A Course in Miracles – Footing Intended for Intrinsic Contentment.

This innocuous book stumbled on my attention in 2005 and it’s passed through my hands many times since. I’d no inclination to peruse its contents for I’d ceased to trust in miracles. In 2005, I was cursing God for abandoning me. I was using all my energy to stave off the hell I descended into 15 years earlier by marrying a person as un-Godly as anyone could be.

In 2007, while packing some books as donations for a book fair, my hand once again fell on “A Course in Miracles “.By now, I’d secured a divorce from my husband but was still working with the fallout. As I grasped the book, I became very thoughtful and calm. What was it about this book that invoked feelings I hadn’t experienced in an exceedingly number of years? My hand clung to the book refusing to put it down. Realizing that this is a sign that I’d better take a closer look, I made a pot of tea and sat in my personal favorite reading chair. With great curiosity, I dedicated to the blue hardcover and read “A Course in Miracles, a base for inner peace.” Wow. Which was a fairly bold statement but okay, I decided to bite. Taking a deep breath, I pondered the absolute most obvious question: What IS the inspiration for inner peace? This book instantly opened a vintage wound and it had better have the answer to healing.

“A Course in Miracles” does work that, a course. Written in three parts, this book is to not be taken lightly and can not be read in weekly or even a month. There’s text, a workbook for students, best acim spotify and a guide for teachers. I’d an immediate urge to fling the book across the space because I was deeply and profoundly afraid. I instinctively understood that when I began looking over this book, I was going to have to alter, and was I ready for the journey ahead?

My personal favorite movie is “The Matrix “.The key character Neo is trying to find the answer to the matrix. He understands the matrix exists but he doesn’t know very well what it is. The man with the answer, Morpheus, contacts Neo and offers the chance for truth by giving Neo a selection between taking a blue pill or a red pill. Take the blue pill and remain ignorant or take the red pill and find the answer to the matrix. Before he reaches for his pill of choice, Morpheus cautions Neo that should he choose the red pill, they can never go back to the life he have been living.

“A Course in Miracles” may be the red pill. Do I read it and change everything I learn about the world and myself or do I take the blue pill and make “A Course in Miracles” book fair fodder?

As I choke down the red pill, I flip to Lesson 1 of 365 in the workbook for students and promptly read, “Nothing I see in this room means anything “.Oh dear. Is it too late to take the blue pill?
